Citigroup mistakenly credits customer account $81 trillion in "near miss", FT reports

Feb 28 (Reuters) - Citigroup (C.N), opens new tab erroneously credited $81 trillion, instead of $280, to a customer's account and took hours to reverse the transaction, a "near miss" that shows up the bank's operational issues it has sought to fix, the Financial Times reported on Friday.

The error, which occurred last April, was missed by a payments employee and a second official assigned to check the transaction before it was cleared to be processed the next day, FT said, citing an internal account and two people familiar with the event.

Meta reduces stock options for staff despite trading at record highs, FT reports

Feb 20 (Reuters) - Meta Platforms (META.O), opens new tab has cut back on its yearly distribution of stock options by about 10% for tens of thousands of employees despite the social media giant trading at record highs this month, the Financial Times reported on Thursday.

Employees receive equity refreshers every year that make up the majority of their remuneration, alongside base salaries and annual bonuses, the FT reported. These stack and "vest" every three months over four years.

Germany approves weapons worth about $2.6 billion, Bloomberg News reports

Jan 29 (Reuters) - German lawmakers have approved weapons and equipment orders worth about 2.5 billion euros ($2.6 billion) for the armed forces in the last parliamentary session before the snap election, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday.

The purchase includes part of a new communication system worth 1.8 billion euros ($1.87 billion) for the Bundeswehr, infantry supplies worth 417 million euros and anti-tank arms and weapon stations for 100 million euros, the report added, citing people familiar with the matter.
